    Women’s Refuge Makeover

    Published 11/09/2022
Transforming spaces for those in need is our passion. Discover how we revitalized a women's refuge in Sydney, creating a welcoming haven for survivors.

In between lockdowns last year we had the pleasure of working with The Salvation Army to makeover one of their women’s refuges in Sydney that was a very tired and uninspiring space in need of a spruce up.

When we first visited the space the furniture was quite badly damaged, the walls were a very boring cream colour and the second room was full of junky old furniture that provided no real purpose. We quickly got to work with the generous help of some volunteers from Dell to paint all the walls, install some a fun wallpaper, create a little craft area for the kids to play and jazzed up some of the furniture to be more functional for the differing needs of the women and children who use the space.

Emma Blomfield Studio Interior Decorating Charity Project

We couldn’t work on the charity projects to achieve great things without the support and love from our suppliers. For this project, we worked with the following amazing sponsors to bring it to life – Paint by Dulux, wallpaper, art & cushions by Urban Road.

These refuges provide shelter for women and children fleeing domestic violence situations and those who have fallen on hard times and need assistance rebuilding their lives. Being able to give back to those in need is an important part of the work we do here at EB Studio. We are always looking for new spaces to donate our time and skills to in order to give back to our community. If you know of any organisations that need help with their spaces please get in touch with me directly – info@emmablomfield.com or if you’re a brand looking to offer your charitable services or products we’d love to hear from you.
