What’s it all about?
Home: The Elements of Decorating is a timeless fully illustrated classic that is to be treasured and referred to over the many years that it takes to be truly happy with the space in which you live – yes it is possible to one day love your home in its entirety! Decorating is not meant to be a quick and easy process, a well put together room takes time and patience. The aim of HOME is to breakdown the decorating process into bite sized, manageable pieces to destroy the common myth that decorating is hard work. My book is designed to look into the mind of a decorator and understand how a professional would put a room together and how homeowners too are capable of tapping into their talents to produce a beautifully curated home by following the five elements of decorating I use daily in my decorating projects.
What’s in the book?
HOME is broken up into categories (from living spaces, kid’s rooms to entryways to dining rooms, bedrooms and beyond) making it easy for you to follow the book from room to room helping you focus and finish each room in your home. The floor plan guidelines in each chapter make it easier for you to find the right placement for you furniture – a common issue with many homeowners when first moving into a new home and facing the daunting task of furniture placement and decorating.
You will walk away from reading this book with a whole new skillset and appreciation for the work decorators do on a daily basis. The book will also give you the confidence to enter a homewares or furniture store without breaking out in a cold sweat. It will allow you to make considered and concise purchase decisions without second-guessing or doubting you newly procured items – a common problem faced by many of my clients.
Let me show you how to create a look you love and a space you are proud to show off – without breaking the bank or starting from the ground up.
