Beautiful events start with beautiful details, and I’ve always believed that the table is one of the best places to make an impression.
I’m so excited to finally share a collaboration that’s been a few years in the making! I’ve teamed up with Event Hire Services (EHS) to create a collection of five beautiful, pastel-toned tablecloths, designed to bring a little more colour, texture and personality to events of all kinds.
From intimate dinner parties and garden weddings to large corporate celebrations, I wanted to create a collection that would give people the confidence to have a little more fun with their tables.
And after years of seeing beige and white dominate event styling, I think we’re ready for some colour!

Bringing Colour Back To The Table
I’ve worked across both interiors and events over the last two decades, and while they’re quite different creative spaces, the principles behind good design are very similar.
It’s about bringing colours, textures and materials together to create a particular feeling. Whether I’m designing someone’s living room or styling a table for a special occasion, I’m always thinking about how everything works together.
One thing I’ve noticed in event styling is how often we rely on flowers to introduce colour. The tablecloth is usually white or neutral, and then all the colour comes from the arrangements on top.
There’s absolutely a place for that classic look, but I wanted to turn the idea around a little.
What if the tablecloth was the starting point for the whole colour scheme?
A beautiful coloured linen can completely change the feel of a table before you’ve even added a single flower, plate or candle. It creates a foundation for everything else and gives you so many more opportunities to be creative.
That was really the starting point for this collection.

Five Colours, So Many Possibilities
When it came to selecting the colours, I actually found myself looking back through a lot of our interior design projects for inspiration.
Blues and greens have been incredibly popular with our clients, and they’re colours I find myself returning to again and again. They’re wonderfully versatile, work beautifully with natural materials and can be paired with so many different accent colours.
I knew I wanted the collection to feel fresh and colourful, but also timeless enough to work across different seasons, occasions and styling styles.
We eventually landed on five shades:
- Haze Grey: A beautiful, understated neutral that works particularly well alongside blues and greens. It’s a lovely alternative to traditional white linen when you want something soft and sophisticated.
- Ash Green: A muted, earthy green that lends itself beautifully to natural, organic styling. I’d pair this with creamy whites, soft pinks and plenty of greenery.
- Mist Green: A fresh, gentle green that makes me think of spring garden parties and long lunches outdoors. It would look gorgeous with white flowers, soft yellows or even a contrasting blue.
- Cornflower Blue: One of my absolute favourites! It’s such a cheerful, classic blue, and one I’ve recently painted the doors in my own home. I love it paired with crisp white, buttery yellow or touches of pink.
- Rosewater Pink: Anyone who knows me knows I’ve always loved pink! I wanted something romantic and pretty without being too sweet. This shade looks beautiful with rich reds, soft greens and warm neutral tones.

The idea was never to create five colours that only work in one particular setting. I wanted each one to offer lots of different styling possibilities, depending on what you pair it with.
How I’d Style The Collection
One of my favourite things about these tablecloths is that you can take the styling in completely different directions.
If you love a more understated look, I’d let the linen be the hero. Choose simple white or neutral dinnerware, beautiful glassware and a few sculptural floral arrangements. I particularly love the idea of small, ikebana-inspired arrangements that allow the colour and texture of the tablecloth to shine through.
For a garden wedding or long lunch, I’d bring in natural textures, fresh greenery and relaxed floral arrangements. The greens would be beautiful here, especially alongside woven details, delicate glassware and soft candlelight.
Or, if you’re feeling adventurous, why not go all out with colour?
I’m a big believer that colour doesn’t need to be used sparingly. You can have so much fun layering contrasting napkins, colourful dinnerware, flowers and candles.
Imagine Cornflower Blue linen with buttery yellow flowers and pink napkins, or Rosewater Pink with deep red blooms and touches of green.
The trick is to choose a few colours that work well together and repeat them throughout the table. That way, even when you’re using lots of colour, the overall look still feels considered.
And remember, you don’t need an enormous floral budget to create a beautiful table. Sometimes the right tablecloth, a few thoughtfully chosen accessories and some simple flowers are all you need.

A Collaboration A Few Years In The Making
The team at EHS and I first met at a design launch in Alexandria a few years ago. We got chatting about design, events and all sorts of creative ideas, and talked about finding an opportunity to work together.
It took a little while for the right project to come along, but I’m so glad it did!
We spent quite a bit of time working through colour options, fabric samples and finishes to get the collection just right.
Texture was particularly important to both of us. I wanted the linens to have a beautiful tactile quality, something that would add another layer of interest to the table rather than simply providing a block of colour.
After plenty of swatches and discussions, we found a fabric that brought everything together.
I love that the finished collection feels playful and colourful while still having a beautiful, classic quality to it.
Creating a Beautiful Event Is All About the Feeling
Whenever I’m designing a space, I always think about how I want people to feel when they’re in it.
The same goes for events.
Think about the most memorable weddings, parties or dinners you’ve attended. It’s often not one particular detail that stays with you, but the overall atmosphere. The lighting, the colours, the flowers, the way the table was set and how everything came together.
A thoughtfully styled table can make guests feel special before they’ve even sat down.
And that’s what I love most about event styling. You have the opportunity to create something really beautiful for people to enjoy together, even if it’s only for one afternoon or evening.
You don’t necessarily need to follow a trend or create something extravagant. It’s about choosing details that reflect the occasion and the people you’re celebrating.

I Can’t Wait To See What You Create!
‘ve already imagined so many different ways these tablecloths could be styled, but what I’m most excited about is seeing how other people interpret the collection.
From beachside weddings and garden parties to colourful birthday celebrations and corporate events, I know there are going to be some beautiful combinations I haven’t even thought of yet.
That’s the wonderful thing about colour. Give five different stylists the same tablecloth and you’ll probably end up with five completely different tables!
I hope this collection encourages you to experiment a little, try a colour you might not normally choose and have some fun creating something beautiful.
