For more than 15 years, interior designer and author Emma Blomfield has been helping Australians create homes that feel warm, layered and effortlessly lived-in. Now, she’s bringing that same relaxed sophistication to a brand-new chapter: the Emma Blomfield Rug Collection, created in collaboration with the Rug Culture team she’s worked with for over a decade.
If you’ve followed Emma’s work, you’ll instantly recognise her signature approach, a love of layered textures, subtle patterning, earthy tones and designs that sit comfortably in both modern family homes and more refined interiors. This collection is a natural extension of the EB Studio aesthetic: calm, balanced, and quietly beautiful.
A collection 15 years in the making
This collaboration grew from years of working side-by-side on hundreds of residential and commercial projects. The team already understood the way Emma thinks about space: how a rug should ground a room, tie everything together and add warmth without overwhelming the design.
Because of that long-standing partnership, the creative process felt incredibly intuitive. Emma began with a Pinterest board full of textures, colours and motifs she naturally gravitates toward, think vintage textiles, architectural details, natural stone and linen-inspired palettes. The Rug Culture team translated that visual direction into early concepts, and together they refined the details until the collection felt exactly like something Emma herself would specify for her clients.
What emerged is a range that feels timeless yet fresh, pieces designed to work seamlessly in the layered, lived-in homes Australians love.

A calm palette inspired by the Australian lifestyle
The colour stories across the range reflect Emma’s instinctive sensibility: earthy neutrals, soft blues and muted greens. These tones regularly appear in her projects because they naturally complement Australian architecture and the way we like our homes to feel — airy, grounded, relaxed and considered.
Patterns are intentionally gentle. Instead of oversized motifs or busy designs, Emma opted for soft organic forms, feather-like detailing and painterly textures that add interest without creating visual noise. Every rug was designed to complement a room rather than compete with the furniture or artwork around it.
This is what makes the collection so easy to live with: each piece enhances a space quietly, creating harmony and calm.
Born from Emma’s years of designing layered, lived-in Australian homes
One of the things that sets this collection apart is the practical lens Emma brought to it. After years of specifying rugs for real family homes, not just styled photoshoots, she knows firsthand how important durability, softness and maintenance are.
That’s why the full collection is made in Turkey using polyester yarns. They’re soft underfoot, easy-care, robust, and ideal for high-traffic homes. These are rugs designed for comfort and longevity, as well as visual appeal.

How Emma envisions these rugs styled in Australian homes
Emma designed this range with real-life styling in mind, think open-plan living, relaxed linen sofas, layered neutral bedding, light timber flooring and homes filled with natural light.
She imagines these rugs grounding family rooms, softening bedrooms and adding warmth underfoot in spaces that might otherwise feel a little stark. Because the palette is so calm and effortless, each rug slots easily into coastal, contemporary, neutral, or classic Australian interiors.
Emma said “Each rug was created to help a home feel “inviting and lived-in, a space where good things happen and memories are made.”
